Branches are selectively removed from within the canopy, allowing more light and wind to filter through. This can improve wind firmness and reduce the risk of branches breaking in heavy winds.
Dead wooding removes branches which are damaged, dead, weak or diseased, and can include removing climbing plants such as ivy to clean out the tree.
